Intro to Restorative & Nidra: Gentler on the joints and fascia than Yin Yoga, Restorative is a profoundly soothing experience that restores your body and mind to its equilibrium through a process of deeply relaxing postures. Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep, is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, like the “going-to-sleep” stage. It is a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of the inner world by following a set of verbal instructions.
What to expect: The teacher will guide you through a few reclining postures to aid relaxation. You will lie on bolsters, sink into the mat and be carried in a semi-conscious and deeply relaxing state. Then you will be verbally guided in a ‘yogic sleep’ state or profound calm and relaxation.
